Viacom Future Classics Exhibition
Budapest 2021
As a long-term Paramount European production partner, we were hired to commission and deliver a bespoke exhibition of original pieces by emerging and established international artists. Authorised by the Mayor to take place at the world-renowned Museum of Fine Arts, the project focused on connecting fine arts and contemporary culture. The commissioned works were displayed alongside the museum’s permanent collection to create a unique dialogue between classical and contemporary art. Music Alchemy worked with art specialist Bakul Patki to identify and shortlist suitable artists, managing the end-to-end process of creation, fabrication, transport, and installation within the world-famous institution.
The exhibition featured a monumental suspended octagonal chandelier by Chila Burman to celebrate the MTV EMA’s 40th anniversary, while Jason Shulman created a photograph recording the entire duration of the first-ever South Park episode. Nam Tram interpreted Rugrats and Smurfs through fine ceramics, and local porcelain artist Petra Combarro envisioned characters from Ren & Stimpy and South Park. Further commissions included Alexandros Tsolakis’s marble sculpture inspired by Paramount’s sci-fi portfolio, a Paul Stephenson painting influenced by the Yellowstone franchise, and Arran Gregory’s sculpture, “A Star Is Born,” featuring Patrick Star to welcome guests to the exhibition.
